Introduction

Welcome to Level 10 Leadership.

All problems are downstream from leadership, and all of your problems are directly proportional to your ability to lead. This course will empower you with practical tools and frameworks to transform the way you lead.

Transformation doesn’t come from books or courses. It comes from you changing how you think, act, and interact with the world around you.

Buckminster Fuller said, “If you want to change people’s thinking (and behavior), provide them with a tool, the use of which will change their thinking (and behavior).”

That’s what you have here. A toolbox filled with simple and accessible tools for transformation that will lead you to what I call Level 10 leadership. A systematic set of daily, weekly, quarterly, and yearly actions that will change everything about your life, leadership, culture, and business.

I'll help you build the foundation for level 10 leadership using the first sequence pictured below, called the Proven Process.

The Proven process exists for 3 reasons:

  1. Ensure that your mission, culture, and values become part of the fabric of your daily actions and operations.
  2. Ensure that you are creating a great work experience for your managers, who in turn create great work experiences for your team, and that everyone is leveraging technology, policy, and systems to create great guest experiences and, ultimately, a profitable business.
  3. Ensure that your team is populated by all of the right people in all the right positions, communicating clearly about expectations, goals, and accountability.

If you're already doing parts of the proven process, have a different way, or parts don't click with you, then don't worry. Keep what fits; discard the rest.

I recommend you print out this picture and reference it often throughout the Proven Process modules of the course so you can visually track your progress.

Once the Proven Process has optimized your culture and systems, you'll enter into the next phase: Continuous Improvement Cycle.

It may look complicated, but it's really just five simple forms, used in sequence, that set you up for Level 10 Leadership, where the course culminates.

Now, let's dig in.
